About the Journal

Istinbath: Jurnal Hukum is a scientific law journal dedicated to strengthening scholarly understanding of legal studies and legal transformation in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and other parts of the world. The journal responds to contemporary social dynamics by publishing high-quality articles and research reports that critically examine emerging legal issues related to identity, digital technology, social justice, labor relations, digital property, and legal reform, using an interdisciplinary/cross-disciplinary approach that encompasses socio-legal studies and the study of law and society. Istinbath seeks to enrich legal discourse through analytical, contextual, and transformative perspectives on law in contemporary society.

Istinbath: Jurnal Hukum ISSN: 1829-8117 (Print) 2527-3973 (Online) is a double peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Sharia, Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Metro, Lampung, Indonesia, published twice a year, every June and December, publishing original research articles in the field of legal studies and legal transformation. This journal is committed to promoting the advancement of science, particularly legal studies and legal transformation in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and other parts of the world in response to contemporary social dynamics by providing a platform for researchers, scientists, academics, and legal practitioners to publish their research findings and share knowledge with the wider scientific community.
Istinbath: Jurnal Hukum accepts submissions of research papers with a particular focus on critical and emerging legal issues, including identity, digital technology, social justice, labor law, digital property, and legal reform, using an interdisciplinary/cross-disciplinary approach that encompasses socio-legal studies and the study of law and society. Its scientific orientation focuses on three main emphases: (1) the interaction between positive law, Islamic law, and sociological studies of law; (2) the application of cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches; and (3) a strong commitment to addressing underserved issues and emerging legal challenges.
To maintain academic integrity and publication quality, Istinbath: Jurnal Hukum implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process and prioritizes originality, uniqueness, relevance, and timeliness in every submitted manuscript. Authors are required to strictly adhere to the journal's submission guidelines and writing templates. Manuscripts that do not conform to the specified format and scope will be returned without review.
