FRACTIONAL RESERVE FREE-BANKING DALAM PERSPEKTIF MASLAHAH

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas tentang fractional reserve free-banking dalam perspektif maslahah yang dikemas dalam sebuah komparasi pemikiran ekonomi Islam dan ekonomi Austria. Latar belakang munculnya tulisan ini adalah kegelisahan penulis terhadap terus berulangnya krisis ekonomi. Penulis mencoba mengkomparasikan antara pemikiran ekonomi Islam dan ekonomi Austria dalam memandang permasalahan ini.fractional reserve banking merupakan sistem perbankan modern yang sarat dengan resiko resesi ekonomi, karena dibangun sebagai wadah finansial semu dan berimplikasi pada bubble economy. Sehingga dalam melihat fenomena ini, pemikiran ekonomi Islam dan pemikiran ekonomi mazhab Austria bersama-sama menyumbangkan pemikiran kontrusktif terhadap sistem moneter perbankan, yaitu berupa fractional reserve free-banking. Karena menurut kedua pemikiran ini, sumber instabilitas ekonomi modern pada saat ini terletak pada sistem fractional reserve banking yang diaplikasi di perbankan komersial di seluruh dunia melalui kemampuan penciptaan uang (creation money), sehingga money supply bergeser dari titik keseimbangannya.

The study discusses about fractional reserve free-banking in maslahah perspective which is presented in comparating between islamic-economic thought and Austria economy. At the beggining of this study is researcher’s disquiet about recuring crisis of economy. The writer tries to interconnect between islamic-economy thought and Austria economy in beholding this issue. Fractional reserve banking is such a modern banking system which has a recession of economy, since it is built as forum of financial illusory, then, it implicates to bubble economy. In order to regard this phenomenon, islamic-economy thought, along with Austria economy, contributes constructive thought toward such monetary banking system. According to these thoughts, the source of instabilitymodern economy is located on fractional reserve banking system that implemented in commercial banking in over the world by creating money. Then, supplying money grates with its balancing.
