Abstract

Telah diketahui bahwa terdapat perdebatan pluralisme di antara sarjana Muslim di Indonesia kotemporer. Kebanyakan dari mereka sangat menentang dan menganggap pluralisme sebagai unIslamic. Meskipun demikian, banyak yang menyutujui dan mempercayaipluralisme bahwa gagasan tersebut berasal dari sumber dasar Islam. Dalam tulisan ini, penulis menyataakan bahwa pluralisme Islam menghormati terhadap kebenaran agama lain. Meskipun demikian, baginya, masyarakat semestinya mendasarkan komitmen dan loyalitas mereka terhadap agama yang mereka yakini.

 

It has been accepted that there has been dispute over pluralism among Muslim scholars in contemporary Indonesia. Many of them extremely argue against and regard it as unislamic. Nevertheless, many agree with it and believe that such an idea is rooted from Islamic primary sources. In this article, the author asserts that pluralism in Islam pays respect to the truth based on other religions. Nevertheless, to him, people should base their commitment and loyality to pluralsime on the faiths   they trust in.
