Article Correction and Retraction Policy

International Journal of Arabic Language Teaching (IJALT) protects the integrity of the scholarly record through transparent post-publication action. Concerns may be submitted to the editorial office with the article title, DOI or URL, a clear description of the issue, and supporting evidence. Good-faith concerns are assessed on their merits.

Corrections

A correction is issued when an error affects the interpretation, accuracy, attribution, or discoverability of an article but does not invalidate its main conclusions. The correction notice will state what changed, who requested the change, the date of publication, and a link to the original article. The version of record will not be silently replaced.

Retractions

Retraction may be considered when findings are unreliable because of:
1. Major error or misconduct: data, images, or text were fabricated, falsified, or plagiarized.
2. Published without required permission.
3. The work is a redundant publication.
4. Ethical approval or informed consent was absent where required.
5. Peer review was manipulated, or another serious breach invalidates the publication.

A retraction notice will be freely accessible, clearly identified, and linked in both directions with the article; state the reason and initiating party; and be published promptly after a fair investigation. The original article remains identifiable as retracted unless removal is legally required or necessary to prevent serious harm.

Expression of Concern

An expression of concern may be issued while credible evidence is under investigation, when an investigation is inconclusive, or when a responsible institution cannot complete the inquiry promptly. It will be replaced or updated when the matter is resolved.
