Abstract

Tulisan ini mengupas tentang Muhammadiyah yang merupakan organisasi pembaruan Islam modern terbesar di Indonesia. Muhammadiyah tumbuh dan berkembang dari 1912-1950 yang dikenal sebagai fase pembinaan organisasi. Dalam fase pembinaan tersebut, peran kepemimpinan sangat besar -jika tidak boleh dikatakan sangat menentukan, khususnya saat Muhammadiyah dipegang oleh Kyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan, dan para penerusnya. Muhammadiyah telah berkembang dari pusatnya di Yogyakarta hingga menjangkau hampir seluruh wilayah Indonesia. Salah satu kunci sukses Muhammadiyah menjadi organisasi yang besar adalah karena sejak awal organisasi memiliki modal sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian studi pustaka untuk mengungkap sejarah tentang perkembangan muhammadiyah.

This article analyzes about Muhammadiyah as the biggest organization of modern Islam reformation in Indonesia. Muhammadiyah had grown from 1912 to 1950 that was known as the phase of organization development. In that phase, the role of leadership was very important; it could be said quite establishing especially when Muhammadiyahwas led by Kyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan and his successors. Muhammadiyah has developed from Yogyakarta to almost the entire territory of Indonesia. One of the key successes of Muhammadiyah being the biggest organization was because since the first it has the social modal. This research used library research to discuss the history of Muhammadiyah development.
