THE EFFECT OF FINANCIAL LITERACY AND FINANCIAL BEHAVIOR ON STUDENTS' FINANCIAL PLANNING AT THE SANTITHAM FOUNDATION MUSLIM SCHOOL

This study is to determine the influence of financial literacy and financial behavior on students' financial planning at Muslim Santitham Foundation School. Using a quantitative approach and questionnaire as primary data collection instruments, this study involved 100 matthayom level 4-6 students as a purposively selected sample. The analysis results show that financial literacy has a positive and significant influence on student's ability to plan financially. Conversely, although financial behavior also indicates a positive impact, it is not significant on students' financial planning. Although financial literacy is not explicitly integrated into the school curriculum, respondents demonstrate an adequate understanding of the basic principles of personal financial management. This research fills a gap in understanding how financial literacy can shape financial planning among students, especially in a cultural context where talking about finance is still considered a new thing.
