Indonesia is a country rich in ethnic, cultural, and traditional diversity. One way to preserve Indonesian culture amidst technological developments is by teaching culture to children from an early age. This study aims to explore the role of dance extracurricular activities as a medium for introducing Indonesian culture as well as a means of stimulating the cognitive development of early childhood. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collection techniques in the form of participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of children aged 5-6 years who actively participated in dance activities at TK Negeri 1 Metro Timur, along with accompanying teachers and the Principal. The focus of the research includes cognitive aspects such as attention, memory, problem solving, and symbolic thinking. The results of the study show that children's involvement not only strengthens their understanding of local culture but also makes a real contribution to developing cognitive abilities in a natural, fun, and meaningful way.
