Abstract

Nowadays, with the very rapid advancement of technology, in communicating most people choose to communicate via smartphone rather than communicate directly. The problem is the lack of understanding and knowledge of students using smartphones, students have not been able to limit the use of smartphones to be more positive, students have not been able to limit their time in using smartphones. The target of the implementation of the activity is for all class IX students at SMPN 8 Kota. The methods used are Lecture and Discussion, Demonstration, Simulation, and Consultation Methods. The results achieved through this service students can find out the dangers of excessive smartphone use, as well as the negative impact, namely phubbing behavior. Through this service, students can take advantage of current technological sophistication by learning to make quizzes via smartphones that are related to the subject matter and increase student motivation to learn online in the current COVID-19 pandemic.
